There is something quietly powerful about making with our hands.
In a world that often encourages us to move quickly through life’s milestones, creating something slowly and intentionally can become a meaningful way to pause, remember and reconnect.
Our Memorial Wreath Making Sessions were created for people who would like to honour the memory of someone important to them. Whether marking an anniversary, remembering a friend or family member, celebrating a life, or paying tribute to someone who has inspired them, these sessions offer an opportunity to create something deeply personal.
A wreath has long been a symbol of continuity, remembrance and enduring connection. Made from seasonal foliage and natural materials, each wreath reflects not only the changing seasons but also the stories, memories and relationships that continue to shape us.
These workshops are about more than the wreath itself. They are about making space.
Space to sit alongside others who understand the significance of remembering.
Space to share stories if you wish, or simply enjoy quiet conversation while working with your hands.
Space for moments of reflection, but also for smiles, laughter and the warmth that often comes when people gather to remember someone they love.
Grief and remembrance are rarely experienced as a single emotion. Alongside sadness, there can be gratitude, humour, affection, pride and joy. We welcome all of these experiences without expectation or pressure. Everyone is free to engage in the way that feels right for them.
While these sessions are reflective in nature, they are not intended for people in the immediate aftermath of a bereavement. They are designed for those who feel ready to mark memories through creativity and shared experience rather than for those experiencing acute grief or crisis. They are also not a substitute for bereavement counselling or mental health support.
The sessions are facilitated by an experienced therapeutic practitioner who is skilled in creating calm, compassionate and psychologically informed environments. Their role is not to provide therapy, but to thoughtfully hold the space so participants can create at their own pace, connect with others if they choose, and feel comfortable bringing whatever memories and emotions naturally arise.
No previous floristry experience is needed. There is no expectation to produce a perfect wreath. What matters is the time taken, the intention behind the making, and the opportunity to create something that carries personal meaning.
We offer small sessions in our workshop as well as private group bookings for families, community organisations and workplaces. We can also bring the workshop to a suitable venue if you would prefer to gather in a familiar place.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is simply spend time together, making something beautiful in memory of someone who mattered.
