A Creative Pause: Celebrating Women Together

Honouring International Women’s Month Through Creativity & Connection

On Sunday, 29th March 2025, we gathered to celebrate International Women’s Month with an intimate afternoon dedicated to creativity, connection, and the wonderful women who continue to inspire us every day.

Hosted by Blooms & Evergreen, the gathering brought together a small group of women dear to us for a moment of pause amidst the pace of everyday life. In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, achieve more, and stay endlessly busy, this felt like an opportunity to slow down intentionally, to create, reflect, and simply be present with one another.

Throughout the afternoon, we immersed ourselves in mindful, hands-on workshops, creating our own handmade journals and learning the beautiful craft of paper pot making. There was something deeply grounding about working with our hands — folding paper, binding pages, shaping pots — each process encouraging patience, creativity, and care.

The journal-making workshop became more than simply crafting notebooks; it was a quiet invitation to create space for our thoughts, ideas, dreams, and reflections. Each handmade journal felt completely personal, carrying the unique touch of the woman who made it.

Alongside this, paper pot making offered a gentle reminder of growth and renewal. Watching simple materials transform into something purposeful and beautiful reflected the very essence of the day: nurturing creativity, community, and ourselves.

As laughter, conversation, and storytelling filled the room, we were reminded how important these moments of connection truly are. Every woman brought something special to the gathering, whether through shared experiences, creative expression, or simply their presence. Together, we created an atmosphere that felt supportive, inspiring, and full of warmth.

There is something incredibly powerful about allowing ourselves the time to pause, particularly in the company of women who uplift and encourage one another. In those moments of shared creativity and calm, we found inspiration not only in the workshops themselves but in the collective energy of the community around us.

As the afternoon came to a close, we left feeling grounded, grateful, and creatively recharged. More than anything, the gathering served as a reminder of the importance of carving out space for meaningful connection and celebrating the women around us, not only during International Women’s Month, but throughout the year.
